Jake Hannan started his career with California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection in the Humboldt/Del Norte Unit in 2004. He worked at various stations and programs and promoted through Fire Captain A in Humboldt/Del Norte Unit. In 2016, he transferred to Valley View Conservation Camp. In 2018, he promoted to Battalion Chief in Sonoma/Lake/Napa Unit assigned to Lake County. In 2021, he transferred out of the field into Employee Support Services, where he served CAL FIRE’s employees and their families by getting them in touch with behavioral health resources. In 2024, he transferred into the CAL FIRE Training Center as the Wellness Battalion, where he currently works. Education and Accomplishments Jake Hannan attended Jesuit High School in Carmichael, CA, American River College in Sacramento, CA for lower division courses, and Humboldt State University for upper division courses. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology earned in 1999. Specialized Training Jake Hannan has taken numerous classes related to Critical Incident Stress Management including Group and Individual Crisis Intervention, Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention, and Strategic Response to Crisis. FIRESCOPE History In August of 2023, Jake Hannan and Mike Aiello were selected by Chief Nikole Tippit to replace herself and Kevin Molloy on the FIRESCOPE Behavioral Health Subcommittee. Personal Interests Jake Hannan resides in Northern California with his wife and two children. His hobbies include hanging out with the kids, painting, writing, running, walking the dog, weight-lifting, and yoga.
